I still have some modifiers from over ten years ago, and they’re fine for what they’re used for. But now and again, some small incident makes you reassess your gear, or forces you to replace it.
Meet Mr. Snowden. Jonny Snowden. All round good guy and thoroughly upstanding chap, but a rather reluctant model. I had offered to photograph his bike, but failed to mention I wanted to put his bike in context with him.

Lanzet are a bespoke kitchen design and manufacturer, based in Preston. I was asked to provide updated images for their website and brochure etc., with the emphasis to be on the quality of their work, and craftsmanship.
CP Davidson are based in Chorley, and build custom lorry back ends, such as the skip hook adaptation pictured above. Therefore, the photography needed to concentrate on their work (The adaptation) rather than the cab. Obviously, the cab is the pretty bit, but the hook assembly is what they do, and what they sell.

Whilst the above image may well look like a studio shot, it’s actually one from a competition event held at Blackpool Winter Gardens. This was the Europeans annual competition, and I was there with Helen, of Helen Rose Photography.
I do enjoy photographing food. And photographing really good food is something else! This is the Cherry Tree at Blackrod. An outstanding venue with food to match. The colour and texture gives me plenty to work with, and it’s these two attributes I want to get across.
Cosplayers. Definitely a unique type of client, and not because of the costumes. They tend to have quite a special outlook on life in general. They give up an awful lot of their time for charity causes, and quite frankly, they all seem to be a little bonkers! And it’s this last trait that I love the most.
Automotive photography is one of the genres I really do enjoy. I like the challenge of the convex glossy or metallic surfaces, the challenge of hiding and avoiding reflections. What also gets my pulse racing, is the opportunity to photograph unusual cars. Cars such as the Tesla. While it’s not particularly rare, you don’t see one in every third parking bay at Tesco!
