Cosplayers. Definitely a unique type of client, and not because of the costumes. They tend to have quite a special outlook on life in general. They give up an awful lot of their time for charity causes, and quite frankly, they all seem to be a little bonkers! And it’s this last trait that I love the most.
This was one of the first events the Olympus E-M1 covered. As I mentioned in The Tides of Change post, the Olympus was originally purchased for personal work.
This portrait was always going to be black and white, hard hitting, and pretty much influenced by “Sin City” and the like.
This was a bit of fun. Something to prove I don’t just “work” and I have a real life outside the studio, or something like that. A horror cosplay shoot organised by the wonderful Hazel Riddle, friend, photographer and a general tormentor.
First things first. I very rarely get to shoot anything purely for myself. Everything tends to be client driven. This shoot, however, was organised by one of my crew, Wayne Myers, and I think it was basically to stop me being so grumpy. Well, for a few hours at least!
