A Winter Wedding – The Villa, Wrea Green

Winter weddings can be very challenging. If the weather’s good, chances are, it’ll still be incredibly cold. This wedding was on the 14th January, and whilst we had watery sunshine, it was absolutely bitter.

Product Photography in Preston, Lancashire

There is a huge advantage when working with publishers such as the Live Magazine group, which is the fact I get to meet an awful lot of interesting people, and get to photograph some interesting things   🙂

Final Hour at The Black Bull, Preston

Well, I’d be the first to admit, I’m not a huge fan of live music. It’s loud! I’ve also never really taken to Metal. So when I was asked to photograph Final Hour at a gig in Preston, I went with an open mind.

Fusion Cocktail Evenings

Following on from the food photography I provided for The Fusion Room on Friargate, Preston, I was asked to photograph their inaugural event, working with Carlito’s Mobile Cocktail Bar and Passion 4 Events. A very enjoyable evening with an awful lot of people who had a fantastic time.

New Year’s Eve at Carlito’s Cocktail Bar, Clitheroe

Club photography, not the easiest of disciplines to get right, although an awful lot of young photographers would like to follow it. I had a request to cover the New Year’s Eve party at Carlito’s Cocktail Bar in Clitheroe, which I happily accepted and quite looked forward to. I went along to meet the owner, Carlo, and took to him very quickly. A rather quietly spoken gentleman with quite a disarming manner. In fact a very pleasant chap.

Passion 4 Events Themed 80s Night

This one seems to have slipped my mind, which is a shame, as I rather enjoyed the evening. Imagine an 80s theme night. I’m not just talking music here, but lots of little (and large) things that all made the 1980s memorable. Rubik’s cube anyone? Yep, they were about in abundance, along with genuine (although newly made) sweets from the 80s, such as sherbert fountains and flying saucers and some I barely remembered.

Corporate Climate

Photographing corporate events, such as awards evenings, conference or even the company Christmas party, are always fun to do. The main consideration being the client’s intended use for the images. Are they to be used simply as a record of events for the staff, or are they to be used in promotional material for the future, such as advertising or recruitment etc.

The Ring Bearer

The bride and groom are always the focus of attention. It goes without saying, really. However, it’s all too easy to become blind to anything other than the bride and groom, which is a real shame.

Naturally Lit. No, really!

Nothing looks more natural, than natural light, right? Well, sorta. I often have the idea a beautiful young bride would look great with no more light than whatever’s available from the window. You know, natural like.

Church Interior – St. leonard’s, Walton-le-Dale

I’m quite torn as to my preference for wedding services. Hotels are great! Most times the bride and groom are staying at the hotel before the service, they’re having the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception there. Isn’t that wonderful! I don’t have to race from one town to another, to try and beat the limousine to the reception. I’m not going to worry about traffic conditions, road works or getting lost. Easy peasy! But……….
