I still have some modifiers from over ten years ago, and they’re fine for what they’re used for. But now and again, some small incident makes you reassess your gear, or forces you to replace it.

This is Martins Arbidans, a long time friend who often steps in as a model when asked politely. On this occasion, Martins modelled for a lighting course held at Studio Sphere in Nelson.
This shoot was developed for a number of reasons. The manufacturer of the butterfly corset wanted some lifestyle imagery to supplement their standard e-commerce images. I also wanted a studio project to make use of the Elinchrom ELB 400 and this would be my first studio use of the kit. I subsequently used the ELB 400 for high speed product photography to great success,
