Project Description

COSPLAYER PHOTOGRAPHY

Cosplayers are one of my favourite clients. They have a real passion for what they do, and we really enjoy bringing their concepts and ideas to life. Whether it’s in the studio or on location, we manage to develop the look and style that fits the cosplayer’s character.

Cosplayer Photography Workshop – The Flash Centre, London

The Flash Centre are hosting two Cosplayer Photography workshops with myself, on Saturday the 20th of July at their London premises. Places are limited, and on a first come, first served basis. The morning session

Photographing the 5th Legion Cosplayers

Cosplayers. Definitely a unique type of client, and not because of the costumes. They tend to have quite a special outlook on life in general. They give up an awful lot of their time for charity causes, and quite frankly, they all seem to be a little bonkers! And it’s this last trait that I love the most.

Photographing Captain America at the Comic Con

This was one of the first events the Olympus E-M1 covered. As I mentioned in The Tides of Change post, the Olympus was originally purchased for personal work.

The Black Widow

This portrait was always going to be black and white, hard hitting, and pretty much influenced by “Sin City” and the like.

Cosplayer Photography

This was a bit of fun. Something to prove I don’t just “work” and I have a real life outside the studio, or something like that. A horror cosplay shoot organised by the wonderful Hazel Riddle, friend, photographer and a general tormentor.

Lighting The Bat

First things first. I very rarely get to shoot anything purely for myself. Everything tends to be client driven. This shoot, however, was organised by one of my crew, Wayne Myers, and I think it was basically to stop me being so grumpy. Well, for a few hours at least!
