Project Description

PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY

From lip gloss to buses and everything in between.
Our team has many years’ experience in product photography, covering every product you can think of, each with its own unique set of demands. Simple white background, for web and catalogue use, or roomsets and props, which can lift a product, especially for brochure work. Or perhaps something a bit quirky or creative? Stunning concept images using models and unusual locations for products are an excellent way to capture the imagination and the eye.

Whatever your product, we can help you create the perfect image for your brand and your market.

Product Photography on White

Yes, a product shot on white. I think this type of shot is possibly the bane of any photographer’s life. There’s no allowance for creativity, and clients ask for it because they see it on their competitors website. And of course, there’s the fact that a number of the large e-commerce sites demand white backgrounds. We could do so much more for the product, if only we were given the opportunity. Which reminds me, I’ve had such an opportunity just lately, and will follow up with a blog showing a comparison “on white” and a more creative setup.

Product Photography – Perspex Signs

As products go, these signs had their own set of challenges. The main thing I wanted to preserve, was the three dimensional nature and depth of the acrylic. The numbering was quite pronounced within the plastic, and I wanted to make sure that was obvious to the viewer. What I didn’t want, was any glare or flaring caused by the highly polished perspex.

Engineering Product Photography

This was an unusual shoot. Not really the subject, or the lighting etc. More the circumstances than anything.

Photographing Lights and Lamps

Product photography for me, seems to attract a lot of domestic and commercial light manufacturers. This tends to be one of the types of products that’s a little more difficult to photograph in-house by an employee with an iPhone or a “nice camera”.

Modelling A Product

Photographing a product in a lifestyle setting can bring it’s own problems. We need to remember that the model is secondary to the product, and whilst they create the desirable lifestyle our client wishes to market to their potential clients, we need to bear in mind the key points of the product.

Classical Imagery of Classical Instruments

I find it interesting how ideas can evolve. This image, for example, was a bit of a throw-away idea for the Northern String Quartet. A bit of something and nothing for their facebook page.
